“Don’t let anyone with bad eyebrows tell you s**t about life”
Who knew that those little hairy stripes across the top of your eyes have such a hold over your beauty?
We have all seen the over plucked eyebrows of the 90’s, the heavy and sometimes shiny ‘scouse’ brow, the frightening ‘sharpie’ brow, the bushy ‘Cara’ brow. The list goes on. We have been heavily influenced by people such as Cara Delevingne, Kim Kardashian and other beautiful browed stars in the media. But their eyebrows look so good because they have been shaped to suit their faces…they just won’t look the same on anyone else. I have seen people try, and it ain’t pretty!
Truth is, those hairs can actually change the whole shape your face. Too far apart, to thin and they can make your forehead and nose appear bigger than they actually are. Too close together and they make you look angry or cross-eyed. To high up can make your eyes look puffy. It’s a tricky part of your beauty regime to get right!
As a make-up artist, I come across all sorts of different shapes, and what I have found that works every time, is using the natural shape of your face as a guide. Enhance them with pencil or dye them if you wish, but go lightly. Bear in mind you were given your shape and colour by your creator to suit your own face.
Your own ideal eyebrow is
A – Measure a straight line from the outer corner of your nose / or your desired outer corner if your nose is a little wider
B – Your brow should end in line with the corner of your nose and the outer corner of your eye
C – Your brow arch should be in line with the outer edge of your iris
Please let me know if you would like me to go into further detail on filling in your eyebrows, width and such like I could talk about eyebrows for days!
