More often than not, an artists album will include summer hits which you’ll have on repeat and the other songs on the album will be disappointing in comparison. This is certainly not the case with dance maestro David Guetta.
Without fail, every year since his startup in 2002, the French music producer has released banging, catchy dance tunes that never fail to impress party people all over the world. Teasing listeners with a top 40 single, then following up months later with an album in which every tune becomes a party starter; Guetta knows how to get people dancing. His newest album Listen is no different, featuring summer hits Lovers on The Sun feat Sam Martin and Shot Me Down’ft Skylar Grey. Guetta’s laid-back style, likeable personality and confident stage presence shows he genuinely has fun and loves what he does. With numerous impressive awards and nominations such as Grammy’s, Billboard Music and International Dance Awards under his belt means he’s also not just your average disco DJ.
Whilst 2011’s Nothing but the Beat and 2012/2013’s F*** Me, I’m Famous: Ibiza Mix saw him stick to his dance hit comfort zone, this years album Listen features a more diverse range of genres including pop and soul. For this album, Guetta has called in a diverse range of artists such as John Legend, The Script and One Republic’s Ryan Tedder. Whilst this album is more diverse, it is by far one of his best.
Personal favourites include: What I did for Love ft Emeli Sande and slow ballad The Whisperer ft Sia. If you like pop or dance music, you’ll like this.
