I’m telling you it’s not all about the bass, this week it’s all about the bees!! These little cuties have been working real wonders for beauty and skin care and Burt’s Bees have picked up on this to create some wonderful products.
Their philosophy is simple; ‘Our ingredients – right down to the packaging – are simple, natural and responsible. We practice what we preach – and we hope to set the example for others to follow.’ In my opinion they do a great job of this and again, they are helping to look after our bees and wonderful countryside.
I was sent a lovely little package, which consisted of a Intense Hydration Clary Sage Mask, Ultimate Care Hand Cream, Hydrating Lip Balm, 100% Natural Lipgloss, Tinted Lip Balm, Lip Shine and a Lip Shimmer. I didn’t know where to start! I decided, in the end, to go with the lip balm as my lips really struggle in this weather. As soon as I popped some on, my lips felt so much better and continued to be hydrated throughout the day. I then tried some of the luxurious hand cream and I have to say this smells just wonderful. It has hints of lemon, shea and lavender which instantly makes me feel calm. You can feel the cream getting right into your hands and it leaves them feeling incredibly soft.
On a Sunday evening I love to enjoy a good soak and read my Kindle. It is also a great opportunity for me to get a face mask on and give my skin some TLC, so I tested the Clary Sage Mask. This product also smells incredible and re-freshing and left my skin glowing ready to start my working week. You only need to leave it on for 5-10 minutes and you see results instantly. Clary Sage has an exceptional ability to trap and retain moisture and this is clearly evident when you use it.
I’ve decided to try out each piece of lip care, every day this week and so far I am loving the Tinted Lip Balm as it just gives your lips a very subtle colour whilst offering the protection they need in the cold weather. It smells lovely and doesn’t have a bad taste like some of them do when you lick your lips! Today I am using the 100% Natural Lip Gloss and I have to say the colour is extraordinary!
It’s a gorgeous dark mauve colour that is perfect for autum/winter. It smells lovely and has good staying power! It also doesn’t dry your lips out like some lip glosses do. I’m not usually a fan of lip gloss, but this one may have swayed my decision. Good work Burt’s Bees! The Lip Shimmer is great too and it left my lips feeling tingly and fresh with a lovely colour, perfect for wearing to work if you don’t fancy full-on lipstick. Now I’m usually not a fan of lip shines as I used to wear them ALL through my teenage years and got sick of them, but the Burt’s Bees one is gorgeous!
The Lip Shimmer
The Lip Shine.
All of the Burt’s Bees products I used in this review are simply wonderful and perfect for the festive party season. If you want a subtle but effective lip colour then I can highly recommend using their lip products and make sure you use the mask as a pre-pamper before you get glammed up!
